Job Title: Business Analyst
FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY


Responsible for a wide range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of
the business unit. Collaborate with all functional business units to achieve strategic, tactical and project
goals and be the functional expert on the specified application(s) and the sole point of contact between
the business unit(s) and the IT Application Development team.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform analysis of business and user needs to understand project concept and document the
requirements.
2. Define systems scope and objectives through research and fact‐finding combined with an
understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
3. Design and document workflow and make appropriate recommendations.
4. Coordinate the development of the business and functional specifications.
5. Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and establishing deadlines.
6. Conduct/participate in project meetings.
7. Develop effective reporting tools for the business unit.
8. Track and analyze business unit trends.
9. Prepare routine reports.
10. Define, develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans
and other QA assessments.
11. Work with IT to conduct testing to meet project timelines.
12. Ensure that all documentation accurately reflects the current status of change and outstanding
issues to the project.
13. Other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Proven project management and leadership skills, including the ability to gather clear business
requirements.
2. Proven ability to develop, document and maintain operational policies and procedures,
including the designing and documenting detailed process flows, and the development of
operational performance and quality metric standards and reports.
3. Degree in Business related field and/or five years of experience in the insurance industry
including underwriting, marketing, business analysis and project management.
4. Knowledge of Property and Casualty industry and insurance and underwriting rules.
5. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability
to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously
manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
6. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and experience with underwriting software
applications and web‐based underwriting systems.

Job Title: Software Programmer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to: Chief Information Officer


SUMMARY

Perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming
procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain and modify programs.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database and
programming technology.
2. Refine data and format final product.
3. Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop
detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
4. Test and develop programming modifications.
5. Write new program code using prescribed specifications.
6. Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change
in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
7. Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation
with users and approval of supervisor.
8. Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing
programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion
of internal checks and controls.
9. Write and maintain programming documentation.
10. Analyze NT client/server and computer based software solutions compatibility with company
requirements.
11. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
12. Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
13. Assist personnel of other departments as a computer source.
14. Other duties as assigned.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Provide on‐the‐job training to new department staff members.
2. Provide computer orientation for new company staff.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
2. Knowledge of company programming procedures and programming languages. Ability to
process computer data and to format and generate reports. Ability to implement and
troubleshoot programming changes and modifications. Knowledge of computer flowcharts and
of programming logic and codes. Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs
and/or program modifications. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw
conclusions. Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
3. Work with users requires interpersonal skills.
4. Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of programming experience.
5. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems
being supported.

Seeking experienced Project Manager for P&C insurance program implementation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project ownership, with skilled management of staff, timeline, cost, and quality
  • Management of client relationship during the project implementation
  • Development and maintenance of internal and client-facing documentation, schedule, statuses, and communication

 

 

Technical Support Person

1. Telephone Support (hours of support not currently specified) for MGA, TPA and Ironshore. Question handled will be related to data transmission and specific error resolution.

  • Issue Management: Research, provide additional information resulting from MGA, TPA or Ironshore inquiries. Manage the resolution of problems in the solution. Coordination with service provider regarding reporting questions.

5. Management of Ironshore change requests to the core cdr data elements and mapping arises from additional Ironshore internal requirements.  i.e.  when Auto program roles out in Massachusetts, additional fields will be identified to support reporting.

6. Management of the optional MFX feed project.
